YOOHOOOO~ HA. im totally tired and maxed out. the past week was quite fulfilling I could say.
there was driving lessons and study sessions and training. but on top of those usual ongoings, there was highlights like the nusws concert at vch on friday night and project feed 1000 on saturday.
okae, thenusws band concertwas not bad. the conductor was Mr Tan. also a conductor for st, margs. so i've seen quite a number of his concerts and this band concert was no doubt his style. everything form the music choreographing to the presentation. well, that concert was also conincidentally his last concert with nusws. so there was encores and a special item. but the main reason I was there was because fel was playing so brenda and me went to support. haha! seriously not bad. alright, and we went for supper after the concert at glutton's bay. and we were so lucky to catch the last bus home. hahaha! damn lucky. =)
anyways, and sat wasProject Feed 1000day. it's my church's project to reach out to the old folks living in those one room flats alone and very very poor in redhill and henderson area. we were broken into grps and lucky my mum and another guy was in my grp cos my dialect totally cannot make it. HAHAHA. we were assigned three units and so we each carried the5kgworth of foodstuffs and daily necessities and went to each unit to pay them a visit. first stop was a cute old man(actually all three that was assigned to us we males. hahaha. anyway, he opened the door, we stricked up a convo and introduced ourselves as volunteers from church and was here to distribute stuffs to them and asked if we could come in. yes, and I was struck by the living conditions of his place. but actually his place is not that bad compared to others. the floor was dirty and sticky cos he can't move arnd that much due to his knee problems.and when I looked arnd the room, I saw a certificate of appreciation of him as a police officer. WOW. haha! and I asked him abt it. well, the whole point was to make him feel good abt himself despite being old. yeah, and I did it.LOL he was going on and on abt it, feeling all proud and mighty. hahaha! and he spoke so fast in dialect until i could catch up understanding.LOL. but it didn't matter cos it was just a casual convo to make him feel more at ease with us. so we talked and talked and we tried to share the gospel with him, prayed for him and we left for the next unit.
the next one was a huge old man, muscular and scary. hahaha! I got a shock when he opened the door. hahaha! he looked menacing. but when he smiled, I almostdied/fainted/-.-"/laughed. it was totally funny cos he didn't have the first four teeth in front, plus he had deep wrinkles. haha! and he was funny. we went into his hse and I was amazed by the number of books.REALLY ALOT. and it's consists of even eng books. plus he was listening to a tape that teaches him eng before we came and it was till playing. he's actually learning eng now. totally cute. hahaha! cleanliness wasn't that good also but it was still alright larh. he had cartons and cartons of dried foodstuffs, which he says he takes every week from the distribution of the community centre downstairs and couldn't finish eating. hahaha! and we started talking and he shared with us alot of things. he is almost deaf in one ear and had to use the hearing aid to listen to us. and he was telling me abt him being a koo-lie last time, and how life was hard during the world war 2, and he sometimes switched to mandrin cos he was afraid I didn't understand. haha! he's really really nice to the max. so we found out that he actually attend our chuch sometimes when he's free.hahaha! how cool. so we sharedmore abt christ with him and prayed for him.
and we went on to the next unit and realised the person wasn't in so we went back down to report and then we were dismissed. yay. hahaha! I was totally sweaty and hot after the whole thing ended. we had to carry that heavy thing arnd to the different units. on the whole, i think we were lucky to get nice old pple who were friendly and easy going, and I really learnt alot. headed for church service after that with mum. saw a fellow sajc mate, joshua( i think that's his name??) anyways, he's ailin's friend, so we just smiled at each other. lol. and I know my sajc dp is also in my church. and I know one of my pri sch teacher is also in my church. and I know another pri sch teacher is also in my church.and i know another sajc gp teacher is also in my church. HAHAHA. the whole world is in my church. okae, im digressing. back back.
okae.. nothing already. hahaha BYE BYE.
